The New Year is all about trying new things and expanding your personal horizons. So why not try expanding your personal style in 2017? Here are our 3 simple fashion resolutions (or as we like to call them, #stylegoals) to help transition your style in the New Year.
Seriously. There is no such thing as too much sparkle. Accessories finish an outfit and open up endless styling options. This year, try to add a handful of accessories to your outfit every day. Whether it’s a bangle bracelet, a statement cocktail ring (or two!), a haute hat, dainty earrings, or a chunky bold necklace, layer them on and step into the style spotlight.
Step Outside Your Style Comfort Zone.
Speaking of stepping into the style spotlight, definitely try to take some fashion risks this year, too. If you are more comfortable in dresses, opt for a chic pair of trousers instead. Or if you’re a jeans girl, swap out your denim for a flouncy skirt. Expanding your style is all about making choices you wouldn’t normally make; your comfort zone will always be there, so why not venture outside of it?
Wear Your Favorite Pieces More Often (and in More Ways).
If you have a fancy top that you just love but only wear once a year, or a pair of heels that are strictly for special occasions, it’s time to throw those silly rules out the window! Even if your favorite closet item is on the formal side, dress it down for daytime and wear it as many ways as you can and to as many occasions as possible. Alternatively, if you have an old pair of jeans that you absolutely adore, try dressing them up and wear them out on the town. You’d be surprised how much a denim jacket or pair of sneakers can downplay a luxe party dress, or how much a tailored blazer, glamorous jewelry, or statement stillettos can elevate a relaxed tee. Your favorite clothes should be enjoyed, so wear them more often.
Follow these 3 simple resolutions, and you’ll be très, très chic in 2017. But if we could add one more #stylegoal to our list, it’d be to always remember to love your look: fashion is meant to be fun, so don’t be afraid to be bold and flaunt what you got!
